The Dead Sea Valley

The Dead Sea Valley

It is the lowest place in the world, At a depth of about 427 meters below sea level, there is the Dead Sea Valley.
It is a geographical area, an active part of the African Syrian rift. Between the Red Mountains and the Moab Mountains in the Kingdom of Jordan and the Judean Desert and the Zin Desert in Israel. The border between the states also passes through it.

Masada northern palace built by King Herod the palace built on three levels of rock 30 meters apart.

A visit to the Masada fortress and bathing in (actually floating on) the Dead Sea, are some of the very musts of every visit to Israel.
You can start before sunrise by hiking the 300 meters (1,000 feet) Snake Trail, take the more moderate Roman Ramp, or ascend using the comfortable cable car.
At the top of the hill, an isolated clifftop located in the heart of the desert lays another of the great building-projects of King Herod.
Probably the greatest real estate builder of all times, Herod built here six palaces topped by his magnificent residence overlooking a breathtaking view. No wonder it is was designated by UNESCO a World Heritage Site.
Across from the Masada fortress extends the Dead Sea so named since almost nothing lives in its extremely salty water. It is the lowest place on earth above the ground. The extra layer of atmosphere protects you from the harmful rays of the sun, and so is probably one of the first health resorts in the world.
Bathing in the Dead Sea is a water experience like no other.
